The House
Lee Faulk Racing Development is a Mooresville, North Carolina–based stock car team with one job: turn raw young talent into race-ready professionals. Equipment, coaching, shop time, seat time. Whatever it takes to earn the next ride.
Leadership
Founder & Team Owner
Lee Faulk is a three-generation motorsports patriarch from Denver, North Carolina. Originally from Florida, he was among the most dominant competitors in his home state during the 1970s, winning countless races across the modified and late model divisions.
Faulk made three NASCAR Cup Series starts, most notably the 1988 Miller High Life 400 at Richmond Raceway, driving the #32 Oldsmobile for Bob Clark Motorsports. He also competed in the NASCAR Busch Series before returning to Florida to continue racing regionally.
In the mid-1990s, Faulk transitioned from driving to building — founding what would become Lee Faulk Racing and Development as a chassis-building operation in High Springs, Florida. When the family relocated to North Carolina in the mid-2000s, the operation pivoted to driver development.
In June 2021, Faulk suffered a massive heart attack while at his shop in Denver, NC. He received emergency treatment for coronary artery disease and made a full recovery.
Co-Owner & Operations Lead
Michael Faulk, Lee's son, is the co-owner and operations lead of Lee Faulk Racing and Development. University of Florida educated, Michael began as his father's crew chief and spotter before he was twelve years old.
Michael went on to race professionally himself, and his early racing success attracted outside investors that ultimately brought the Faulk family to North Carolina to pursue Hooters Pro Cup and ARCA opportunities.
Today, Michael manages the day-to-day operations of LFRD's 7,500-square-foot facility in Denver, North Carolina, overseeing driver evaluations, race preparation, and the team's competitive programs across multiple series.
